Grass cutter found charred in Jejawi house yard

ARAU: The charred body of a male grass cutter was discovered in the yard of a house in Jejawi here today.

The body was found by passersby near the house around 6.33pm.

District police chief Supt. Ahmad Mohsin Md Rodi said that they received information from the public regarding the discovery of the body, believed to be burned alongside the grass-cutting machine the victim was carrying in the yard of a house near the Kangar Municipal Council building in Jejawi.

"Preliminary investigations suggest that the victim was likely burned due to the grass-cutting machine catching fire and subsequently igniting the victim's body.

"The victim was found lying on his back, and his body had already started to bloat.

"We believe the victim was a grass cutter, but his identity is still being confirmed," he said when contacted today.

Ahmad added that authorities believe the victim had been dead for three days before being discovered.

"Furthermore, our initial investigation found no criminal elements around the house, and there were no signs of a struggle on the victim's body.

Ahmad said that the body was taken to Tuanku Fauziah Hospital, Kangar, for a post-mortem to determine the cause of death.
