IPOH: Perak police might seek Interpol's help in tracking down an Indonesian woman linked to a case involving a baby's body found buried in cement last month.
Perak police chief Datuk Azizi Mat Aris said efforts to track down the woman, the previous tenant of the house in Taman Sri Rokam where the body was discovered, were still ongoing.
"We are also unsure whether the woman is still in Malaysia or has already returned to her home country.
"Police will also cooperate with other agencies such as the Immigration Department and we will use all our resources. If she has returned to her home country, we will use diplomatic channels through Interpol," he said.
Azizi was speaking to reporters after attending the state police monthly assembly at the Perak police headquarters.
On Aug 28, a man found the body wrapped in cloth around 11am while repairing a house he planned to rent out.
The man was reportedly digging the ground to lay cement for resurfacing the porch when he uncovered the cloth.
Upon pulling it out, he discovered the body.
He reported the find to the police at the Kampung Rapat Police Station around noon.
