KUALA SELANGOR: A mother and her boyfriend will be charged in court tomorrow with abusing her 5-year-old daughter.
Acting district police chief Deputy Supt. Mohd Ambia Nordin said that the two suspects, aged 32 and 26, will be brought to the Kuala Selangor Sessions Court to be charged under Section 31(1) of the Child Act 2001.
He mentioned that the investigation papers had been referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) in Shah Alam.
"Tomorrow morning (Tuesday), the two suspects will be charged at the Kuala Selangor Sessions Court," Ambia said when contacted today.
Earlier, it was reported that the five-year-old girl had been abused by both suspects.
Ambia stated that the report was made by the 28-year-old ex-husband of the suspect after seeing pictures of his daughter sent via WhatsApp, which showed bruises, swelling, and wounds all over her body and legs.
He added that the couple divorced in 2020, and the victim was under the suspect's care.
