PUTRAJAYA: The mastermind behind the "counter setting" operations crippled by the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission is expected to be charged next month.
MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki said the man, a senior officer attached to the Immigration Department, was behind the operations which facilitated the entry of foreigners without undergoing proper checks.
"This suspect with three others are expected to be charged by the first week of October," he told reporters today.
He said the man was among 49 Immigration Department personnel and police personnel who had been arrested during their operations.
"We also arrested 10 others including two agents and eight mule account providers," he said.
