Penang police seek family of man found partially eaten by fish

BALIK PULAU: Police are looking for the next-of-kin of a man, whose body was found partly eaten by fish and floating in waters 8.9 nautical miles off Teluk Bahang here on Aug 21.

Southwest district police chief Superintendent Kamarul Rizal Jenal said those with missing family members or with information could contact investigating officer Inspector G Gopinath at 019-580 2057 or the Teluk Bahang police station at 04-885 1433.

"About 4.30pm on Aug 21, we were alerted to the discovery of the man's remains by the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency.

"The man's remains were found incomplete and in a decomposed state," he said.

Kamarul said they could not ascertain the deceased's age due to the condition of the body.

"Part of the remains had been eaten by fish," he added.
