Police seeking information on man found dead in Kajang river

KUALA LUMPUR: The police are seeking the next of kin of a man who was found dead in Sungai Kajang yesterday.

Kajang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abd Yusof said the body was discovered by a man who was fishing by the river at around 12.34pm.

"The deceased, believed to be in his 40s or 50s, was found floating face down in the water, wearing an orange T-shirt and underwear.

"He also had a BCG vaccination scar, indicating that he might be a citizen," Naazron said in a statement.

He said no identification documents were found on the body and there had not been any missing person report filed in Kajang that matched the description.

"Anyone with information or who may have a missing family member can contact Bandar Baru Bangi police station chief Inspector Mohd Nasri Tesnoh at 017-7102042," he said.
