KOTA BARU: A father and his three sons, detained for disposing of evidence related to Aurad Muhammadiah and Al-Arqam, had their remand extended for three days at the Magistrate's Court today.
Magistrate Rais Imran Hamid issued the remand order, effective tomorrow, for the family members aged 15 to 48, who are suspected members of GISB Holdings (GISBH), following the Op Global crackdown.
This extension will assist police investigations under Section 8(2) of the Printing Presses and Publications Act 1984.
The family was arrested in Seri Alam, Johor, on Sept 24 for allegedly attempting to bury evidence in Kampung Panji. Their initial three-day remand was set to end today.
Previously, police raided the residence of GISBH leaders and followers in Kampung Panji last Saturday.
During the operation, dozens of books were discovered buried near the Pengkalan Datu river, and over 30 individuals, including the company CEO's second wife, were inspected and taken to a screening centre.
On Sept 24, Kelantan police also raided a charity house and school owned by GISBH in Gong Kulim, Pasir Puteh, uncovering various books related to Aurad Muhammadiah and Al-Arqam hidden in a storeroom.
