Police nab suspect with over 1,200 meth pills in Pasir Puteh

PASIR PUTEH: Police have arrested a man and seized methamphetamine and Epam pills valued at RM18,000 here yesterday.

Pasir Puteh police chief Superintendent Zaizul Rizal Zakaria said that the suspect was detained in Kampung Pohon Barat, near Selising.

A police team raided a house in the village at 3.30pm yesterday after receiving a tip-off from the public.

"During the raid, officers discovered 1,207 methamphetamine pills and eight Epam pills in the suspect's room.

The 32-year-old suspect was subsequently arrested," he said in a press release today.

Zaizul Rizal said that initial investigations suggested the pills were intended for local distribution.

He also said that the suspect tested positive in a urine test and has been remanded for seven days starting today.
