KUALA LUMPUR: Police have remanded a civil servant for allegedly molesting his subordinate.
Kota Baru police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Rosdi Daud said on Thursday, the Kota Baru district police headquarters received a report about a molestation case involving a public servant.
"Investigations revealed that the incident took place at a government premises in Kok Lanas, Kota Baru.
"The victim, a woman in her early 30s, is a public servant.
"During the incident, she was molested multiple times by her superior."
He said the suspect, a man in his 40s who is also a public servant, was arrested yesterday at 6.30pm.
He said the suspect had been remanded for three days, starting today.
The case is being investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code, which provides up to 10 years' jail, a fine, whipping or any combination of these penalties upon conviction.
