KUALA LUMPUR: The bodies of a retired teacher who was fatally stabbed and his son were laid to rest together in a single grave at the Kampung Senaling Muslim cemetery today.
They were buried together about 6.30pm.
The bodies of both men were claimed by family members earlier from the Tuanku Jaafar Hospital Forensics Department around 5pm.
The bodies were then transported in a hearse to Masjid Kariah Kampung Senaling in Kuala Pilah for funeral prayers.
The remains of the 65-year-old retiree had undergone a post-mortem examination and was prepared for burial about 1pm, while that of his son was ready by 4pm.
Several family members and friends of the deceased were seen at the department to assist with funeral arrangements and pay their last respects.
One of the family members, when approached, politely declined to be interviewed by reporters.
It was reported that the elderly man had died last night after allegedly being stabbed by his son at a house in Kampung Senaling, Kuala Pilah, about 4.40pm yesterday.
The 65-year-old man was reportedly attempting to console his son, who holds a mental disability card and allegedly wanted to commit suicide.
The 32-year-old suspect, who left the scene after the incident in a car, was later found lying by the roadside near Pekan Senaling and was pronounced dead.
