KOTA KINABALU: A burger seller and his unemployed nephew were sentenced to 10 years in jail and three strokes of the rotan for physical sexual harassment of an underaged relative.
Both pleaded guilty in front of judge Amir Shah Amir Hassan to their separate charges on Monday, reported the Borneo Post.
The 51-year-old uncle committed the offence at a house in Papar in April 2023.
In July, the 31-year-old nephew sexually assaulted the same victim in the same place.
Both were charged under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.
The court ordered the two to serve their sentences from the date of arrest and to be placed under police supervision for three years.
