KUALA LUMPUR: Former TV host Norjuma Habib Mohamed will go to trial in April and May next year for charges of voluntarily causing hurt to two persons and committing mischief in 2017 and 2018.
The trial dates were set by three magistrates when Norjuma appeared in court today for the mention of the cases after she was issued with arrest warrants for a no-show in July.
Norjuma, who was accompanied by her newly-appointed lawyer, Faiz Kamal Jaafar, had attended court proceedings before three different magistrates.
She will go to trial on April 28 and 29 next year before magistrate Illi Marisqa Khalizan for the charge of voluntarily causing hurt to a Nepali security guard, Neupane Tika Ram, by kicking his leg at 3pm at a tuition centre in Bukit Damansara on March 29, 2018.
Meanwhile, magistrate Haneefa Arifin set May 13 and 14 next year for trial for the charge of committing the same offence on one Mohd Afiq Ismail, 34, at 8.43pm at a business centre near Jalan Ampang on Feb 21, 2017.
In a third court, magistrate Farah Nabihah Muhamad Dan set May 5 and 6 next year for trial for the charge of committing mischief by damaging a boom gate and a closed-circuit television camera of a condominium at 7.45pm near Taman U-Thant in Ampang Hilir on July 28 last year.
Nov 11 was set for document submission and the fixing of trial dates for Norjuma's charge of causing hurt on Nur Solehah Rosli by slapping and scratching her hands at 10.30am at the same condominium on Oct 18,2021.
The charges levelled against Norjuma were under Sections 323 and 427 of the Penal Code.
During proceedings, Faiz Kamal told the courts that he required case documents to be submitted to him as he was unable to get the materials from Norjuma's previous lawyer.
Deputy public prosecutors Syafika Azwa Fikri, Amritpreet Kaur and prosecuting officer Inspector Shazwan Hasifi Shahrun prosecuted.
