BERUAS: Ummu Atiyyah, the daughter of Al-Arqam founder Ashaari Muhammad, arrived at the Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings Sdn Bhd (GISB) village in Kampung Batu Hampar today to identify the location where she claims she was held for a month.
Accompanied by the police, the 41-year-old arrived at the village at 2.30pm.
Dressed in a white baju kurung, Ummu Atiyyah led the police to a house within the village, to show the police the place where she was allegedly confined for about a month.
Ummu Atiyyah and the police left the area about 30 minutes later.
It was reported yesterday that police have opened a wrongful confinement probe following claims by Ummu Atiyyah.
She also claimed she had been forced to marry a leader of GISB.
Inspector-General of Police, Tan Sri Razarudin Husain, said the woman lodged a police report, claiming that she was forced to marry one of the GISB leaders in Turkey before being brought back to Malaysia and locked up in a GISB settlement in Batu Hampar.
"The complainant claimed that the settlement in question was inhabited by many teenagers and adults aged 13 and above.
"She claimed to have been locked in a room on the same floor for about a month by four male GISB followers, who also prevented her from using a mobile phone," he said.
