SERDANG: A video of a man dressed as a delivery rider and snatching the chain of a woman in Seri Kembangan has gone viral.
The 52-second video initially shows two motorcyclists circling a road in front of several shoplots.
One of them parks his motorcycle, and is seen getting off and walking towards a person along the five-foot way in front of the shoplots.
A scream can then be heard, and the man rushes back to his motorcycle and speeds off with the other motorcyclist following suit.
Serdang police chief Assistant Commissioner A.A. Anbalagan said the crime occurred in front of a fruit shop at Taman Universiti Indah around 1pm, on Tuesday.
"The 37-year-old woman lost a RM3,000 locket in this case.
"A video of the incident has since gone viral," he said in a statement today.
Anbalagan said the victim was not injured in the incident.
"We have opened investigations under Section 392 of the Penal Code for robbery.
"We are in the midst of identifying the suspect," he said urging anyone with information to come forward immediately.
