Random urine tests to continue at Thai-Kelantan border

KOTA BARU: Police will continue carrying out random urine tests on Malaysians returning from Golok, Thailand, through Kelantan.

State police chief Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat said the tests, to detect drug abuse among Malaysians partying in Golok, will be carried out at the Immigration, Customs, Quarantine and Security Complex (ICQS).

According to Utusan Malaysian, Mohd Yusoff said many youths from Kelantan frequent Golok on Fridays and Saturdays to party.

"The majority of those heading to Golok to party tend to use illegal routes to enter the country," he said, adding they have even received information about teenagers going across the border for parties.

Previously, Utusan Malaysia reported that many young people from the state patronised nightclubs in Golok especially on Friday and Saturday nights.
