RANTAU PANJANG: The General Operations Force (GOF) seized 900 units of electronic cigarettes and 390 bottles of vape liquids valued at RM221,520 here last night.
However, no one was arrested in the 9pm operation at the Pak Su Rani illegal jetty.
GOF Southeast Brigade commander DatukNik Ros Azhan Nik Abd Hamid said a car was also seized in the operation.
"A GOF personnel spotted an abandoned car at the illegal jetty and after checking, they found several boxes containing the electronic cigarettes and the vape liquids," he added.
He said the items were believed to have been smuggled from Thailand for the local market.
On another note, he said a 26-year-old man was arrested in Tumpat yesterday for trying to smuggle 120 litres of petrol to Thailand.
He added the suspect was driving a car when he was arrested at Kampung Telaga Lanas at about noon.
"The man was heading to the border area to smuggle the petrol to Thailand when he was arrested.
"The car and the petrol are valued at about RM8,000," he added.
