KUANTAN: Former actress and model Zahnita Wilson was required to undergo a urine screening at the district police station here on Dec 11, following a police report lodged against her over alleged involvement in harmful drugs.
Kuantan police chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Mohd Zahari Wan Busu said the 39-year-old woman had earlier gone to the district police station to seek permission for police to escort her to pick up her children from her husband's home.
"I want to clarify that the urine screening was not done because Zahnita sought police help to escort her following the temporary custody to care for her children. A report was lodged against her earlier the same day for alleged involvement in drug activities so we conducted the test as part of the procedures.
"A urine test has been done at the police station and confirmed to be negative," he said when contacted today.
Wan Mohd Zahari said Zahnita went to the police station to seek police help to provide security escort and assistance was given to avoid any untoward incidents(when going to fetch her children at her husband's place).
Yesterday, Zahnita, whose full name is Zahnita Dorothy Hussein Wilson, claimed that she was required to undergo a urine test before being allowed to use a police escort to pick up two of her children from her husband's home on Dec 11.
Last week, the court granted Zahnita temporary custody of her children from her husband before the final custody decision is set on Jan 3 next year.
The magistrate's court here had also approved Zahnita's request for an Interim Protection Order (IPO) under the Domestic Violence Act 1994.
On Dec 5, Zahnita's husband was slapped with two charges for voluntarily causing hurt to her and administering drugs at the Kuantan magistrate's court here.
Zahnita made headlines earlier this month after claiming to have endured domestic violence when she uploaded two photos on social media showing her bruised eye.
