Bezza driver sought after motorcyclist dies in LDP crash

SUBANG: A motorcyclist was killed after being run over by a container truck in a four-vehicle crash on the Damansara-Puchong Highway (LDP) near USJ yesterday.

The 40-year-old man was confirmed dead at the scene.

Subang Jaya District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said police received a report of the incident at 7.30pm.

The crash involved a Yamaha Nmax motorcycle, an electric vehicle (EV), a Toyota Innova, and a container truck.

"Preliminary investigations reveal that the victim was riding his motorcycle in the middle lane, heading from USJ toward the Puchong Barat Toll Plaza, when he collided with a Perodua Bezza. The registration number of the Bezza has yet to be determined," he said.

"The collision caused the motorcycle to lose control and scrape against two other vehicles in the left lane. The victim then fell into the middle lane and was run over by the truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene."

Wan Azlan said the victim's body was sent to Serdang Hospital for an autopsy.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

He urged the driver of the Perodua Bezza to come forward to the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division at Subang Jaya District Police Headquarters to assist in the investigation.

Wan Azlan also appealed to witnesses to contact Investigating Officer Inspector Mohd Hamdan Jeramatin at 019-4642222 with any information.
