MUAR: Police arrested a man suspected of masterminding an illegal liquor production and distribution operation worth more than RM500,000 following a raid at three locations in Bukit Pasir yesterday.
The 39-year-old suspect was apprehended by a team from the 5th Battalion of the General Operations Force at 6.45pm.
Muar district police chief Assistant Commissioner Raiz Mukhliz Azman Aziz said the arrest resulted from surveillance and intelligence gathered by the authorities.
During the operation, police confiscated 134 packages of liquor, two barrels of concentrate and two lorries, with a total seizure valued at RM544,227.
"Initial investigations revealed that the suspect was involved in the illegal production of liquor, which was then sold in the black market," he said in a statement.
