Her fate in God's hands, say family of singer nabbed for drugs in Thailand

NARATHIWAT: The family of a popular Malaysian dikir barat singer who was caught with five others for allegedly possession 6,000 Yaba pills will leave her fate to God.

A close relative of the singer who declined to be named said family members would not stop praying for her and the other five Malaysians who were arrested with her.

"My relative (the singer) has been in Narathiwat prison for 60 days and as her family members, we can only offer our prayers to her.

"We seek God's help so that there will be a miracle," said the 58-year-old from Kelantan.

The family member said this when met at the Narathiwat prison visiting room where she and several other relatives were waiting to visit the singer.

She said they have been travelling to the province every weekend just to visit the singer.

"We do not mind travelling here so often, as long as we can visit and see her condition.

"So far, we are relieved that she is okay. She also told us not to worry about her," she said.

At the room, there were also visitors for other Malaysians being held in the prison.

The singer is one of seven Malaysian women currently being held there. In total there are 31 Malaysians in custody in the prison.
