KUALA LUMPUR: A PKR leader has lodged a police report against Eric See-To, the administrator of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak's Facebook account.
The report, lodged at the Dang Wangi police headquarters, was over a recent post allegedly criticising court decisions in the SRC International case.
In a statement, PKR leadership council member Fahmi Zainol said the Facebook post, published on Jan 7, questioned the High Court's decision, upheld by both the Court of Appeal and the Federal Court, which found Najib guilty of corruption.
He said the post, which also criticised the trial judge was a clear case of contempt of court.
"The attempt to revive allegations regarding the credibility of judge (Datuk Mohd) Nazlan (Mohd) Ghazali through a two-year-old report by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission contradicts two key facts.
"Najib had withdrawn corruption allegations against Nazlan in a subsequent affidavit filed with the Federal Court.
"A seven-member Federal Court panel had ruled that the MACC's investigation into Nazlan had violated judicial independence and did not follow proper protocol."
Fahmi accused See-To of repeatedly undermining the judiciary's credibility through Najib's Facebook account, adding that such actions tarnished public confidence in Malaysia's judicial system.
"A police report was lodged to hold Eric See-To accountable for the latest contemptuous post based on two justifications:
"Eric See-To's admitted to being an administrator of Najib's Facebook page, as stated in a podcast 'Yang Bakar Menteri' hosted by the economy minister.
"The Facebook post closely resembled an article titled Revisiting Najib's RM42 million SRC Conviction, published on Jan 7 on Malaysiakini and authored by Eric See-To."
