Members of Parliament to undergo another round of Covid-19 tests

KUALA LUMPUR: Members of Parliament have been instructed to undergo another round of Covid-19 screening.

Speaker Datuk Azhar Azizan Harun, in announcing this, said MPs who wish to undergo the tests at Parliament's complex are reminded to be present at its multipurpose hall on Thursday, between 9am and 2pm.

"For other MPs, they may do so at medical centres and submit the test results to the Dewan Rakyat secretary on Monday.

"MPs and accompanying officers are required to undergo the Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction test (RT-PCR) every two weeks throughout the sitting, as per an announcement made on Nov 4."

He, however, said the screening service at Parliament would not be made available for staff members.

Azhar said he will consider allowing earlier tests to be conducted on MPs and their staff who will celebrate Deepavali this week.
