KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian borders will remain closed to foreign nationals seeking to enter the country for tourism purposes, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob today.
This was after he announced the lifting of bans on interstate travel and overseas movement for Malaysians who have been fully vaccinated.
He said for now, the country's borders will only be opened to foreigners on case-to-case basis such as emergency, official business and other related matters.
Ismail Sabri said this a special press conference which was televised live today.
The press conference was held after 90 per cent of the adult population in the country have been fully vaccinated under the Covid-19 National Immunisation Programme (NIP).
