PADANG BESAR: Furious at not being given money to pay for his drug fix, a junkie stabbed his father to death at their home in Jalan Padang Melangit here, this morning.
State Criminal Investigation Department chief Superintendent Azahar Muda said initial investigation revealed that the 24-year-old junkie had been asking his father for the money since yesterday, but the victim had refused to entertain him.
"At 7.40am today, the junkie stabbed his 53-year-old father in the back when he once again refused to hand his son the money," Azahar said.
The victim died on the spot, and his son was detained about 20 minutes later at his grandmother’s home, nearby.
The case has been classified under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, which carries the mandatory death penalty upon conviction.
