KULAI: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak outlined three principles today to resolve Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (FGV) boardroom tussle.
Taking the opportunity to comment about the highly-publicised on-going issue in FGV, Najib said it was the government's wish to see that the matter resolved soon.
"I want to outline three principles to be adhered to resolve the tussle in FGV.
"The three principles in resolving FGV tussle are to abide by the company's laws, to be in line with good governance principles and to ensure the outcome must have undergone a fair process," he said in a speech after a breaking fast with 5,000 people in Felda Sungai Sayong tonight.
He said that FGV being a public-listed company must abide by company laws and practice good governance as it undergoes the process to resolve the boardroom tussle.
"It is the government's desire to have the issue resolved before Ramadan ends," he said, adding that he was called upon to comment on the matter as it was being widely talked about.
Najib said that consultations were done with Felda chairman Tan Sri Shahrir Abdul Samad and FGV chairman Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad to appoint Datuk Seri Idris Jala to conduct a detailed investigation into the current FGV drama.
