KUALA LUMPUR: Manchester Police yesterday served blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin (RPK) with a notice to refrain from writing about Sarawak Report founder Clare Rewcastle-Brown.
According to a report by online portal Malaysia Today, UK-based RPK was told by police that he will be arrested and charged in court if he continues to write articles about Rewcastle-Brown.
In response, RPK pointed to the fact that Rewcastle-Brown continues to write about other people, such as Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
“The police said that that has nothing to do with them, and if Najib feels he is also being harassed, then he can lodge his complaint with the London Metro Police too,” the report said.
The police told RPK that Rewcastle-Brown was suffering from stress due to his writings about her.
“So, from today (onwards), if you want to read about her, you will need to go to The Third Force at www.thethirdforce.net, although she can continue to say whatever she wants about Najib and his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor,” Malaysia Today said.
RPK had reportedly told the police that he will not stop writing about Rewcastle-Brown, and that getting arrested by the police is “really not a big deal,” as he has been arrested many times before for his writings.
“Knowing Raja Petra and how stubborn he is, he might just defy the police order and continue writing (about Rewcastle-Brown), even if that means he will be arrested and sent to jail,” the online portal added.
