KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has raided the office of audit and consultancy firm Deloitte Malaysia at Menara LGB in Taman Tun Dr Ismail here.
The ongoing raid, which began at 10am this morning, was launched simultaneously with raids on two other companies believed to be involved in Felda Investment Corporation's (FIC) purchase of a property abroad.
Four plainclothes MACC officers were seen entering the building at 10am to gather evidence and documents related to the ongoing FIC probe.
On July 14, the MACC opened an investigation paper on FIC’s questionable purchase of a hotel in London, estimated to have cost RM330 million in 2014.
It was reported that the price paid for the hotel was too high and had caused FIC to incur huge losses.
As of 12 noon, the four officers are still on the 16th floor, conducting their checks.
Press reporters and cameramen were at first allowed to wait on the same floor, but about an hour into the raid, they were told to wait at the building’s lobby instead.
