MANILA: No application for permit to hold the controversial gay gathering "White Party" has been received and neither will it be granted.
In fact, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has called for the police and Immigration Department to track the movements of the organisers of the party and ensure they were not allowed to enter the country.
"No visa will be granted, as the NTL (not to let) order has been issued. Police and Immigration are monitoring the movements of all those involved," said Zahid on the sidelines of the 11th Asean Ministerial Meeting on Transnational Crime at the Conrad Manila Hotel here.
"We will never approve such a gay gathering as this is not the behaviour of normal human beings," said Zahid.
The organisers have stated the event, which was scheduled to be held on Sept 30 in Kuala Lumpur, as a boost for tourism.
"There are many other things we can do to bring in tourists. We don't need this," said Zahid.
