KUALA LUMPUR: Media Prima Berhad, Malaysia’s leading fully-integrated media group today was recognised as one of the “Best Companies to Work for” by HR Asia, after being ranked by employees across the country.
Media Prima emerged one of 45 companies in Malaysia recognised with the ‘HR Asia Best Companies to Work For’ award at a ceremony held at The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur today.
Media Prima Group Human Resources’ Group General Manager, Puan Nor Arzlin Redzwuan said the recognition reaffirms Media Prima’s key belief that employees are the greatest asset to a company as they, in turn, are the ones to ensure the company’s success.
“This honour is dedicated to our leadership team and everyone at Media Prima, especially my Human Resources team. This award will spur the HR team to forge ahead with innovative policies and engaging programmes for the benefit of all employees at Media Prima,” she said, after receiving the award.
HR Asia is Asia’s most authoritative publications for senior HR professionals and the awards cover 12 markets across the region.
A total of 320 companies from various industries in Malaysia had submitted their entries for this year’s award which follows a long and stringent audit process that focused on employee engagement, work culture and development opportunities.
The judging process where best practices and inner workings of companies are investigated was conducted by an independent panel of industry experts, academics, journalists and Government representatives. This is the 5th installation of the annual awards.
"This is one of the most structured and extensive survey on employee engagement and workplace practices in this region. Through this survey, HR Asia has discovered that many of these companies — both local and international — have workplace practices that are on par with the best in the world," said Datuk William Ng, group publisher and editor-in-chief of Business Media International, the publisher of HR Asia.
The survey gathers employees’ feedback along with management comments and presentations. The 45 winners were noted as exemplary for creating a workplace environment that pushes beyond traditional employee engagement.
In total, 9,360 employees participated in the survey. Most of the employees from the winning companies report that they enjoy a high level of job satisfaction by being able to successfully meet customer expectations.Media Prima’s Group HR Department has won various awards in the past including:
