BAYAN LEPAS: A Firefly plane was forced to make emergency landing just few minutes after it took off from the Penang International Airport (PIA) Tuesday morning.
The incident was believed to have happened at about 10am when flight FY2087, heading to Subang, had to make a u-turn back to PIA due to technical issues.
PIA's senior manager Ramzi Ahmad said that the aircraft landed safely at 10.35am and that operation at airport resumed as normal.
Firefly's chief executive officer Ignatius Ong said that there were no casualties reported and checks on the plane were underway.
"The cause of the technical issue is yet to be ascertained," he said.
