KOTA BARU: Kelantan government thanked the Federal government today for implementing two projects - the Sultan Ismail Petra Airport and East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) in the state.
State Local Government, Housing and Sports Committee chairman Datuk Abdul Fattah Mahmood said the two projects would help boost the state's economy as well as generating employment for its people.
"The Kelantan government is grateful for the introduction of the two projects which we considered as the major development for the state.
"And, we hope they can be implemented as soon as possible the people here can feel the benefit," he said.
The two projects were announced by Prime Minister who is also Finance minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak in today's Budget 2018.
The projects are includes in the RM55 million allocation to subsidise public transport services.
Apart from expanding the airport and Sandakan International airport, the government would also upgrade the Penang and Langkawi International airports.
Under the same allocation, Tok Bali industrial area will also be developed.
