KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim expressed his gratitude today to Members of Parliament from both sides for their support in passing the Constitution (Amendment) Bill 2024 on citizenship yesterday.
Anwar, who is also finance minister, hoped that such support would continue for 2025 Budget (Belanjawan 2025), which is currently being tabled.
"Before I present the 2025 Budget, I would like to take this opportunity to express my highest appreciation to all MPs for the historic strong support achieved yesterday, which brings several positive implications.
"It is proof of the solid consensus among the MPs and recognises the rights of mothers and children. May this spirit of support for the 2025 budget continue," he said while tabling the 2025 Budget (Belanjawan 2025) in the Dewan Rakyat today.
