KUALA LUMPUR: Police will begin investigation on the MIC leader who was allegedly recorded asking for sexual favours in return for help in securing jobs, once they receive a report against him.
Sentul police chief Assistant Commissioner R. Munusamy said so far police had not received any report against the alleged sexual predator, believed to be a MIC branch chairman, but confirmed that he had received a call from the MIC Treasurer General Datuk Seri S Vell Paari regarding the case.
"He called me from India yesterday and shared about the individual...I urge him or anyone to lodge a police report first so the police can open an investigation," he said.
On the press statement about the alleged perpetrator, allegedly released by Vell Paari, Munusamy said police could not verify the allegation in the release until they investigate it.
The circulated Press statement alleged that the perpetrator was trying to convince a mother to advise her daughter to have sex with him, in exchange for a job opportunity.
It was learned that he had apologised to the family of the victim and resigned from the party.
It was said that he also admitted to having sex with four 17-year old girls.
