KUALA LUMPUR: The massive floods which crippled Penang last weekend will be debated in the Dewan Rakyat today.
Speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia allowed the motion raised by Ng Wei Aik (DAP-Tanjung) under Standing Order 18 (1).
"It's a matter of public importance which needs to be debated.
"The debate will be discussed in the Special Chambers at 2.30pm on Wednesday (today)."
A 17-hour storm on Saturday paralysed Penang, causing mega floods, landslides and uprooted trees.
