KOTA BARU: The number of flood victims in Kelantan rose to 11,278 as at 9pm compared to 10,985 at 4pm today.
The victims were placed at 43 relief centres in five districts – Kota Baru, Pasir Mas, Tumpat, Tanah Merah dan Pasir Puteh.
The Social Welfare Department Infobanjir application said Pasir Mas has the highest number with 7,322 victims from 3,266 families at 29 relief centres followed by Tumpat with 3,704 people (1,319 families) at eight relief centres.
In Kota Baru, 102 victims (25 families) were placed at two relief centres, 121 victims (30 families) at three relief centres in Pasir Puteh, and 29 victims (eight families) at a relief centre in Tanah Merah.
The infobanjir.water.gov.my portal of the Drainage and Irrigation Department said the water level at Sungai Golok in Rantau Panjang has increased slightly to 10.37m at 8pm compared to 10.35m at 4pm today. The danger level is 9m.
The water level at Sungai Golok in Kuala Jambu, Tumpat remained at 3.50m, similar to the reading at 4pm. The danger level of the river is at 2.50m.
Meanwhile, the Kelantan eBanjir portal, ebanjir.kelantan.gov.my reported that no major roads were closed to vehicles as of 9pm tonight. — BERNAMA
