KAJANG: A male hiker is feared dead after he fell at the tip of Gunung Nuang this afternoon.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department as well as the Civil Defence Department teams were dispatched to the scene after they were alerted about the incident.
Operation commander Mohd Jaslizad Jalil said a distress call was made by a hiker who found the 47-year-old victim at 1.31pm.
“The victim was found about 100m from the mountain tip. He is unconscious, he also sustained head injuries.
“Hikers who found him believed that the victim was descending the mountain when the incident happened. They are with the victim at the scene,” he said when contacted today.
The search and rescue teams started the operation at 3.10pm and it will take about six-hours to arrive at the peak.
