KUALA KUBU BARU: There men drowned at the Sungai Sendat waterfalls area in Ulu Yam, Kuala Kubu Baru near here this afternoon.
Kuala Kubu Baru Fire and Rescue Department Chief Kamil Hamadan said in a statement today all three victims were found at 12.50 pm and was confirmed dead by staff at Hospital Kuala Kubu Baru.
He said they received an emergency call at about noon on the incident and immediately dispatched a team from the Kuala Kubu Baru Fire and Rescue Department who began their search rescue (SAR) operations after arriving at the waterfall.
The remains of three victims were found less than an hour later.
Meanwhile, Kuala Kubu Baru police chief Lim Bak Phai said all three victims from Pandamaran, Klang arrived with three other friends for a picnic at the waterfall.
He said the victims have been identified as B. Peacaiswaran, 25-year-old, his younger brother, B. Nagulan, 20-years and their friend G. Ganesan, 23 years.
“The incident took place when Peacaiswaran suddenly slipped and fell into the pool at the waterfall.
“After realising that Peacaiswaran had fallen, Nagulan and Ganesan jumped into the water to save him but failed to surface and were believed to have drowned,” he said in a statement.
Lim said one of the friends than informed the police of the incident.
He added that Fire and Rescue personnel found the remains of the three victims at the bottom of the pool.
“The case has been classified as sudden death.
