The 'baad' billy goat did not intend to mate with woman

KUALA PILAH: The incident where an angry billy goat chased a woman and rammed its head into her car's steering wheel was sparked by provocation.

“To clarify, it was not because the goat was in heat,” said Negri Sembilan Veterinary Services Department director Dr Zul Edham Wagiman when contacted today.

He discounted the goat’s intent on mating with the woman and insists that goats are usually harmless to humans even when they’re in heat. It is apparently not in their nature to be aggressive when they’re feeling ‘horn-y’.

Dr Zul was commenting on yesterday’s incident in Kampung Gentam here at 3pm where a woman known only as Mysha, 45, was attacked by a goat.

Mysha claimed that the incident happened as she was about to enter her car and felt something probing her rear end. As she turned around, she saw a hostile goat. Mysha ran into the car to save herself but did not have time to close the door. The goat managed to worm its way into the car and had its horn stuck in the steering wheel as a result.

Dr Zul said this was an isolated case.

“To this day, I don’t know who the owner of the goat as it ran into the bushes after being released by members of the Civil Defence Force,” she said.

Mysha believes that the incident might have happened because the goat was probably goaded by a bee before running into her car.
