Saudi Aramco to invest US$7b in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco) will invest US$7 billion or close to RM30 billion in Malaysia before March 31, this year said Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

The Prime Minister said that the investment will further boost foreign direct investment (FDI) in this country.

“This morning I received text from (Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department) Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Dahlan who said that Aramco had agreed to invest US$7 billion in Malaysia before March 31,” he said.

Najib said this after receiving the National Transformation 2050 (TN50) Youth Canvas here tonight.

The Prime Minister said Abdul Rahman was sent to Riyadh to close the deal with Aramco.
