Noor Rashid ready to carry on duties for country as Deputy IGP for another year

KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Noor Rashid Ibrahim is ready to accept the trust and responsibility given to him after his term was extended for one year.

Noor Rashid is due to retire on March 17.

"I see this as a responsibility and trust that I must take to carry out the duties for the country and Malaysians.

"Hence, I am very grateful to all those who still have full confidence in me including Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Fuzi Harun," he said briefly when contacted today.

Noor Rashid said he would continue to make sure any instruction and trust given to safeguard security and public order will be preserved.

"All these efforts will continue to be done by upholding the vision and mission of the Police and the direction of the leadership, IGP (Tan Sri) Fuzi," he said.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi announced the service period of Noor Rashid as Deputy Inspector-General of Police would be extended one year.

He announced this at a press conference after attending the Home Ministry's monthly assembly and Excellence Award Ceremony in Putrajaya.
