MyRumah talks, lectures a main draw for visitors

SHAH ALAM: Talks by lecturers and property experts have been popular with those attending the MyRumah Property Exhibition at the SACC shopping centre here.

Among those who are sharing their knowledge and experience in various sessions throughout the exhibition are Ahyat Ishak, Datuk Nazri Mustafa, Akmal Nazim, Bella Leana, Amin Harith and Amsyari Syakur.

Students Putera Mohd Zubir, 23, said the topics of discussions were attractive and, in fact, this was what drew him to the exhibition in the first place.

“As a final-year student of Architecture, Planning and Surveying at Universiti Teknologi Mara, these lecture sessions give me a lot of input as I may just go into the property field when I graduate. Besides, I will of course want to buy my own house once I get a stable job, so I need to have some knowledge about purchasing the right property as I don’t want to make a mistake,” he said.

Among the factors he said he would be taking into account when purchasing property in the fture would be location and market value.

“Location is important, for instance, if I buy a house in the Klang Valley... the value is always increasing here due to demand, so this would be a good investment.”

Another student, 22-year-old Abdul Rahim Hussin, echoed the same sentiments, saying location and price were the most important things for him to consider when he buys his first property in the future.

He said the price of the house needs to be appropriate, but proximity to various facilities was equaly as important.

“Your first house doesn’t need to be luxurious... what is more important is that you can comfortably afford it. Many people make the mistake of buying something when their finances are not quite stable.

“That’s why it is important that you are armed with some knowledge about property before purchasing a house, especially if it’s your first time.”
