3-day livestock expo to attract experts from all over Asia

KUALA LUMPUR: The ninth edition of an expo which brings together feed, livestock, aquaculture and meat industry professionals from throughout Asia will be held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from April 19 to 21.

Livestock Asia 2018 Expo and Forum is organised jointly by UBM Malaysia, the Veterinary Services Department, and Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Ministry.

UBM Asia vice-president and group managing director (Asean business) M. Gandhi said the role of UBM was to create a mutually-beneficial environment to grow and develop exhibitors’ businesses, while providing visitors with solutions to their business challenges.

“The expo offers three action-packed days, and is expected to attract more than 7,000 local, regional and international trade visitors and delegates, representing the entire value chain, including integrators, veterinarians, livestock and aquaculture farmers, feed millers, wholesalers, retailers, food processors, importers and distributors and more,” he said.

Veterinary Services Department director-general Datuk Dr Quaza Nizamuddin Hassan Nizam said 200 exhibitors were taking part in the expo.

“They include manufacturers and distributors such as Pristine, Poullive, CAB Cakaran, QSR Brand, Behn Meyer, Biomin, Evonik, Gladron, Impextraco, Muyang, Pericoli, Peterlab, Sumitomo, Valli and many more,” he said, adding that the expo would also host seminar programmes.

“Among the programmes are an International Poultry Forum, World Poultry Science Association Scientific Conference, Livestock Asia Technical Seminar and Aquaculture Asia Technical Seminar.

“There will also be an online Business Matching Programme, which will help delegates arrange on-site meetings with exhibitors and visitors prior to the show,” he added.

Participating foreign countries include China, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Russia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, The Netherland, Turkey, United Kingdom and the United States.
