Two men caught urinating at place of ablution in Phileo Damansara MRT station sparks outrage

KUALA LUMPUR: Two men, believed to be Chinese nationals, were alleged to have relieved themselves at the place for ablution at the Phileo Damansara MRT station.

The incident, which allegedly took place last Wednesday afternoon, was encountered by the brother of a netizen, a Nor Hafidzah.

Nor Hafidzah, who exposed their behaviour on Facebook, said her brother was about to pray when he heard noises coming from the ablution section of the prayer room.

He went to take a look and saw two guys, believed to be of Chinese nationality, based on their thick accent.

He said that the men seemed to understand him and another Muslim man who was there.

The men were told that they should not urinate there but they ignored Nor Hafidzah’s brother and proceeded to relieved themselves.

Unhappy by their disrespectful act, Nor Hafidzah’s brother walked out of the prayer room and lodge a complaint with an auxiliary policeman.

He asked the auxiliary policeman for assistance to handle the situation, when one of the two men walked out of the prayer room.

After performing his prayers, Nor Hafidzah’s brother noticed that the alleged Chinese nationals were still with the auxiliary police and a few MRT personnel.

As of this writing, the post has sparked massive outrage among netizens, having been shared more than 3440 times.

Netizens did not hold back from expressing their anger and displeasure.

Some urged the authorities to take a tougher stance with tourists who behaved badly, adding that the men should be punished.

Others said the incident might have been due to a lack of understanding in Malaysian culture.
