JITRA: Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir wants all communities in the state to benefit from his leadership, and has urged the people to point out any weaknesses or lapse in administration for improvements to be made.
He said the government would not know the problems of the people such as single mothers, the poor and the elderly who needed help if it did not receive the information from the ground.
"Not only us (the state government), but those who have been entrusted with responsibilities at the district and local levels will also bear the burden of not carrying out their duties.
"So, help us with your views and constructive criticism," said Mukhriz in a brief speech after the ‘Subuh’ (dawn) prayers at the Al-Muhsinin Mosque here today.
Mukhriz said he was aware that there was a reason behind him being given a second chance to lead Kedah as the Menteri Besar, and therefore wanted to ensure that the mandate given to him was not wasted.
"I will urge my colleagues in the state government to give higher priority to the state's welfare and development," he added. -- Bernama
