KUALA LUMPUR: Former chief secretary to the government Tan Sri Hashim Aman passed away today while receiving treatment at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL), today.
He was 89.
Hailing from Rembau, Negeri Sembilan, Hashim was born in 1929.
He served as chief secretary to the government from 1980 to 1984, and had served in the government sector for 27 years.
He was also chairman of Perbadanan Nasional Bhd and later on chairman of Maybank.
Prayers will be held at the Saidina Umar al-Khattab mosque in Bukit Damansara and he will be laid to rest after Asar prayers.
