KUALA LUMPUR: Opposition leader Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has been urged to declare his assets.
Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir (PKR - Johor Baru) who made the call in the Dewan Rakyat, urged Zahid to "lead by example" and disclose his assets.
“I feel it is proper that the opposition leader declares his assets as Pakatan Harapan leaders have also agreed to declare their assets,”said the Member of Parliament while debating the royal address.
Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad had, on July 9, said MPs from his party, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) and Cabinet ministers will soon have to declare their assets to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
He said the prime minister and deputy prime ministers would also have to declare their assets.
