Japanese man dies after car crashes into cow

KAJANG: A Japanese citizen died after the car he was driving collided with a cow near the Bangi toll plaza here today.

In the 6.30am incident, Shimizuishi Masatoshi, who is believed to be in his 40s, died on the spot.

Bangi Fire and Rescue Department chief Rosman Majid said they received an emergency call at 6.40am.

“A fire and rescue team rushed to the scene and arrived five minutes later.

“When they arrived, firemen discovered an accident involving a car and a cow.

“The team proceeded to extract the victim from the vehicle using a hydraulic cutting machine,” he told the New Straits Times Press when contacted today.

Rosman said a medical team, who rushed to the scene from a nearby hospital, confirmed the victim’s death.

“Based on initial investigations, the victim was believed to be heading to work at the Nilai Industrial Estate.

“The cow that was knocked down also died,” he added.
