KUALA LUMPUR: The Ampang Line Light Rail Transit (LRT) service was disrupted for an hour when a tree fell on the track between the Cempaka and Pandan Indah stations this morning.
RapidKL said in a statement today that the incident, which occurred at 10.26 am, caused damage to the iron plate which supplied power to the trains, but the service was fully restored at 11.35 am.
“No injuries were reported. Power supply was cut to enable repair works to be carried out as well as to clear the area at the scene of the incident,” said the statement.
It added that Rapid Rail had provided four shuttle buses to transport affected passengers from the Chan Sow Lin LRT station to the Ampang station.
“Rapid Rail would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused this morning. We will monitor all trees near the LRT track and chop down those which could be a hazard,” it said.
