Seri Perdana opens to public

PUTRAJAYA: In line with the principle that Seri Perdana belongs to the people, the Prime Minister’s official residence is now open to public.

Based on its website at seriperdana.gov.my, several parts of Seri Perdana, which is located at Presint 10 here, are open for public viewing for six days a week, from Monday to Thursday and on Saturday as well as Sunday.

The Protocol and Banquet blocks are open to the public. Those who are interested to book a guided tour can do so during the weekdays and they need to make their booking at least seven days in advance before the date of visit.

Seri Perdana, however, will be off limits during official events.

“During the 90-minute visit, visitors are required to be properly dressed and bring along their identification documents including an identity card or passport. No recording is allowed inside the building,” it said.

The website stated that the Prime Minister’s official residence, Seri Perdana, was built in 1997 on 17.19 hectares, featuring Malay, Islamic and European architecture designs.
