Wan Azizah arrives in Brunei for working visit

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail arrived at Brunei International Airport to begin her first two-day working visit to the oil rich country.

Wan Azizah, accompanied by Foreign Affairs Deputy Minister and Senator Datuk Marzuki Yahya and several senior officials, arrived in Royal Malaysian Air Force special aircraft which touched down at 10.53am.

Wan Azizah and her entourage were welcomed by Brunei’s Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and the Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah; Minister of Foreign Affairs II Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Dato Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof; and Permenant Secretary and Chief of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade Dato Paduka Mohd Nor Jeludin.

The Women, Family, Community Development Minister proceeded to attend pre-council meeting and will then head to Istana Nurul Iman for separate audience with the Sultan of Brunei, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah and Paduka Seri Baginda Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha.

Wan Azizah would also meet with Brunei’s Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Aminuddin Ihsan, who is also in charge of the nation’s community and women development affairs, to share ideas in the interest of both parties.
